> Adding Images
Here is the topic you chose to view
This topic will explain how to add an image to your post or signature.

- The first thing you need is the image of course. There are a few different ways to do this. I'll start with this example:
Let's say that someone made a sig (or image) for you, but you do not know how to use it in your sig (or post). In my opinion the best way is to save that image to your computer & upload it to an image hosting site (or your own site if you have one). Then use that the direct link to the image to display it in a post or sig by hotlinking to it.
Note: If you don't know what hotlinking means I'll try to explain as best as I can. Hotlinking is basically showing an image on a different site than it's hosted on. Some sites do not allow this so it will not work on all images across the web.

1. Right-Click on image and then click Save Image As (IE users click Save Picture As). Choose where you want to save it on your computer and remember that location.
2. Go to an image hosting site like Image Shack and Upload the image. You can use other sites too of course like Photobucket and others.
3. After uploading the image you might be shown a Direct Link to the image depending on what site you use, but either way you want to Copy that direct link to the image. If it's not shown then Right-Click on that image, and if you use Firefox click Copy Image Location. (if using IE click Properties and in the popup window Copy the Address-URL. Close the popup.)

- The direct link to the image is now Copied so we need to Paste it somewhere. Depending on what you're doing with it see below:

---- Using image as a sig:
1. Click My Controls link near top of page in user bar area.
2. Look on the left side for the Personal Profile section, and then click Edit Signature.
3. Along the top of the editor where you type in your sig find the button Insert Image and click it.
4. Now Paste the direct link to your image in the small popup & click Ok.
5. Save your new sig by clicking Update My Signature near the bottom of that page. You're done! Now the image will be shown in your signature.

---- Using image in a post from the Add Reply page or the Fast Reply box:
1. Along the top of the editor find the button Insert Image and click it.
2. Now Paste the direct link to your image in the small popup & click Ok.
3. Click the Add Reply button (of course after adding anything else you want), and now the image will show up in your post.

- Alternate Method #1- Using image in a post by Uploading it directly to topic:
You can also upload an image directly into a topic, but make sure that you have enough free attachment space. If not you might have to use the above "hotlinking" method to show your image. You also have to make sure that you have permission to upload by looking at the Add Reply page of any topic (or the New Topic page as well). Scroll down under the editor section and see if there is an Attachments section. If so, then here's how to upload your image to a topic from the Add Reply or New Topic page.
1. Click the Browse button in the Attachments section, and select the image you want to upload. Click Ok.
2. Click the Upload button to the right of the browse button.
3. Now click Add Reply or Post New Topic depending on what you are doing. The image will now show up as an attachment in your post.

- Alternate Method #2- Hotlinking image without saving to your computer:
1. Right click on image and with Firefox click Copy Image Location (if using IE click Properties and in the popup window Copy the Address-URL. Close the popup.)
2. Along the top of the editor (on the Add Reply page, New Topic page, or Fast Reply box in any topic) find the button Insert Image and click it.
3. Now Paste the direct link to your image in the small popup & click Ok.
4. Click the Add Reply button (of course after adding anything else you want), and now the image will show up in your post.

That should cover all of the basics of adding images to your posts and sigs! If you have any questions feel free to ask in the forums  wink.gif
